My husband and I did the surprise 4 course lunch Service is professional and friendly with excellent English. Memorable courses. Scallops appetizer was outstanding. Probably best scallops I have ever eaten Pork main course also outstanding Highly recommend when in Rouen
This is the second time I’ve taken mon the train to Rouen from Paris for lunch and the second time I’ve been disappointed. Odas is a young 1 Michelin star restaurant affiliated with the Collectionneurs brand in the centre of Rouen. The dining room is surprisingly small and squeezed for a fine dining restaurant in province, so we got to enjoy the intense discussions happening on the table next to us. We arrived as late as possible for the lunch service in order not to get stuck behind too many orders, but this failed and we had to wait quite a while for our first courses to arrive. The kitchen is small and doesn’t handle the peak that well. We went for the tasting menu with cheese course and it was a curious mix of excellent and complete misses. The amuses bouches were pretty but forgettable, the first couple of entrées fairly indistinct, I was especially surprised that the veal tartare was as plain as it was. The scallop course should have been amazing but was ruined by a bitter burnt coffee emulsion. Then the fish, the beef and the cheese courses were exceptional, before crashing to a final failure with dessert of bitter baked pineapple on a collapsed sable, crowned by a saucer of sugar and served with a spoon of honey that was never explained. I really wanted to enjoy this meal but I just couldn’t understand how they were able to be so good and unsuccessful at the same time. I hope to return in a couple of years when the kinks are ironed out.
We had the most wonderful evening with delicious food and fantastic service. We had the blind menu where we didn’t know what we were going to have! It exceeded our expectations and whilst dining we were able to view the kitchen operations which looked calm and capable. Excellent wines and their suggestions were great. Slightly tucked away but definitely worth the visit.
It was a first time at the restaurant so classy, so I cannot evaluate it right: but the team of restaurant has 9/10 balls, they were very nice, kind, sometimes they didn’t know something but they repaired it immediately: I don’t eat to much so I think the style of the restaurant is really for me. I love to have a lux entertainment, so it was like that! I definitely recommend that place for people who is very well in vines! There are so many vines …. I definitely recommend if you are a gourmand: Even when I finished with a coffee it was also PERFECT: I am really happy to open this new page in my restaurant life:
What a great way to end confinement. From the initial booking to the delivery of the bill. Calm, professional, front of house and kitchen (visible from the terrace). We took the 4 course menu as normal for a Michelin starred restaurant.. extras were provided. Amuse Boucher, gift from the chef, the bread exceptional. All dishes were special. I requested a wine to match with each course and they were perfect. Sardines, cauliflower, asparagus, salad, crispy vegetables,lobster, black Angus beef, strawberries, rhubarb... petit fours with the cafe. Everything special... extra accompaniments additional textures... simply superb. A beautiful evening in a beautiful terrace with beautiful cuisine supported by professional staff. Till next time .
