This is a very welcoming and traditional spot to spend an afternoon. The fireplace made for a cozy setting on a chilly spring day, and the outdoor seating looks ideal for warm summer days. It's my second visit, my friends and I loved it! Amazing service and food. Affordable prices.. Cozy place run by a family. Decor is great, it feels like home... The lady served us even though they were closing soon.. Super friendly environment
We had a lovely walk from saltdean to rottingdean along the under cliffs on one of the hottest days in July 2022......found this tea room the trellis ..... ordered the ploughman 's lunch which you can order a beer with...... I can really recommend this on a hot day..... Good service, nothing to much trouble... Sat outside with the umbrella up.....good food..... nice cold beer...... Great little place.....then walked on to kipplins garden in rottingdean..... round to the pond...... then a very very slow walk back to saltdean........ Will go back to the trellis again...... a great little destination place
The place feels like and has a distinct vibe of a family run business. I had a wonderful jacket potato there. The service was really welcoming and friendly. All the facilities are present, too. Would love to come back one day.
I have been here twice since moving to Saltdean a few months ago. Each time the staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was wonderful. Lovely home cooked food.
On a cold, wet December Sunday lunchtime, when everywhere was closed, the Trellis did a wonderful takeaway of fish and chips and vegan chilli. Very grateful and all was delicious. Thank you
