What Gina Irvine doesn't like about Yellow Lion:
Waited an hour for food. The food was really nice to be fair but there was no table service and few staff. The waitress didn’t look like she knew what to do. When the food arrived you had to wait for cutlery. Shame as if the place was decorated a bit and they had more staff there is great potential as like I said the food didn’t disappoint. A shadow of its former self, in need of some TLC to bring it back to what it should be.
Not sure where to start on this…we ordered food at 7:30pm and we’re waiting over 3 hours. I confronted the staff about this, admittedly extremely annoyed, to find the chefs done with their shift and said where’s the food. The fall back excuse was we went to the wrong tables, however surely if you went to the wrong table, the tickets would still be live…also know your pub layout, if a tickets for a table number go to that table not just random people…Clearly they don’t expect much, and maybe they were overwhelmed but I think it’s inexcusable. Also they ran out of ice which we bought for them to try lure them to bring our food around 8:30pm but to no avail.

The room we hired was clean and we were allowed to put our own decor up. We also had access to the garden area so the kids could play outside in the play area. The manager was really easy to contact and nothing was too much trouble for her. And to top it off it was very good value for money. We would definitely recommend and use again!
Had the steak and ale pie and lasagne both with triple cooked chips. Both were absolutely delicious. I couldn't finish the lasagne! Thank you!
Cracking pub, friendly locals and allowed to sleep overnight in my camper.. cheers !
