Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant offers a mix of positive and negative reviews. Guests enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff, with some praising specific dishes like the deep-fried Camembert. However, there were complaints about dry Sunday roasts and disappointing portion sizes for the price. Some also felt that the quality of food did not match the grand appearance of the building. Gluten-free options were appreciated, and the restaurant received positive feedback for events like weddings. Overall, while some aspects were praised, improvements in food quality and menu value were suggested.
Most of the breakfast dishes were gluten-free, except for the sausages. They did not have gluten-free cereals but did provide gluten-free bread. In general, I felt that they made a good attempt.
Ate here whilst staying at the hotel. Reasonably priced for beautifully prepared presented food. They are quite happy to serve just a starter dessert. Reasonably priced for the quality of the dishes. Only quibble is the menu remains unchanged each day. Waiting staff are efficient but also very friendly.
The food was very average and expensive. I can cook better myself! Staff were attentive, but a bit scruffy. For that price I would expect coffee after the meal to come out on a tray with a coffee jug or similar. Instead 2 cups were brought out already poured, with coffee all over the saucers. The place (restaurant and hotel) seems to be posh , but REALLY isn 't. I have had far better tasting food at a fraction of the price from a local garden centre on the A22!! And it ISN 'T an old orangery, no matter what they say. It 's a large room with a big skylight. Nice peacock outside, though.
Fantastic service. Staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely atmosphere, quick and efficient service and value for money in our opinion.
Excellent food and service. Good range of vegetarian and vegan options. Would definitely recommend.
