This restaurant is the best for miles around, maybe even the best on this side of Italy. It is family-owned and operated, always serving hot and fresh dishes that are a must-try. View all feedback.
What Frensisa doesn't like about Garcias Pizza:
I chose Garcias based on rave reviews, but I should have known better as soon as I looked at the menu and saw that it didn't suggest authentic pizza. Despite this, I decided to give it a try. What we received was something that was vaguely pizza-inspired at best, nothing like what you would expect from a place with a pizza sign above their door. If you expect a dull tasteless Domino 's or Pizza express type Pizza then avoid Garcia 's. But if you want a FRESHLY cooked Pizza Wrap or similar bursting with flavour and the complete opposite of the dry powdery dough that the big co 's use then go here. The very friendly couple that run it have been doing so for decades and its an art form. Garcia 's is a hidden gem in Bexhill, near the Station and supermarket so ideal stop off after shopping or travelling. Try it once, it won 't be the last time you go back, but it might be the last time you go to a 'big name ' pizza shop!
I have been visiting Garcia's since the place was first opened back in late 80's.. There are so many take away restaurants that just produce the same old stuff... You don't get that with Garcias.., the food is all freshly prepared and cooked..., and it is great value... What makes this place a gem is that there is no where like it..., no one does food like this..., it all just tastes great... In nearly 30 years, I've never had one that wasn't outstanding.., and if I'm in Bexhill, I always make a point of going there... I can't recommend it more,,, The couple who run it are the most lovely people you could wish to meet... Get yourself down there and get the best take away in town...
I have been ordering from Garcia's for a while now and I can confidently say that I have never been disappointed. Their Pizza Pasties are the best I have ever had! The dough and bases are exceptional, and the fresh ingredients are always tasty. My children love them too because of the variety of fillings and toppings. I have tried other places, but none of them compare to Garcia's. I highly recommend it.
I remember when garcias first opened loved the pizzas then and the pizza pasty I moved away but recently moved back to bexhill and back to this fantastic pizza place 3 pizza tonight so tasty I can't get enough there have been many pizza places come and go but garcias still standing.
The crust was extremely oily and baked in a round pan rather than on a stone. The toppings were sparse and not placed on top, but instead covered with a cheese that definitely wasn't mozzarella - it seemed more like grated cheddar or something equally unsuitable for pizza. I would recommend avoiding this place if you're looking for Italian pizza, but give it a try if you're looking for a nostalgic childhood memory.
