Description

Nestled conveniently across from Manor Barn, this charming café boasts a vibrant atmosphere and a tempting array of breakfast, lunch, and delightful cakes. While many patrons rave about the friendly service, delicious breakfasts, and outstanding coffee, others have expressed disappointment in service delays and stale desserts. The establishment excels with a variety of milkshakes and well-priced, high-quality food, making it a solid choice for a casual outing. However, potential diners are advised to check preferences, especially for items like afternoon tea. Overall, a place worth visiting, but with room for improvement in service efficiency.

My husband and I ate here twice in the space of a few days. Service was friendly and welcoming both times. On the first visit, our nachos and egg on toast were very nice. There’s a large variety of milkshakes to choose from our White Twix and Bubblegum choices were amazing! Would love to try the iced cinnamon roll flavour. As we’d seen good reviews online, we booked a vegetarian afternoon tea. This consisted of sandwiches, quiche, mini cakes, scones and a surprise mini cheesecake towards the end. All of the sandwiches were served on seeded bread, which was an issue as I don’t eat this. Usually with afternoon tea, sandwiches come on at least two varieties of bread e.g white bread and seeded bread, so there’s something for everyone. I feel that when we booked the afternoon tea, the coffee shop should have informed us they usually make the sandwiches on seeded bread, or asked for our bread preference. With hindsight, I will specify with future afternoon teas which bread I would like to avoid this happening. They did kindly prepare additional sandwiches for me on white bread, at an extra cost. The food all tasted lovely and was very good value for money at £11 per person we took the cakes away with us as were too full to eat everything we were presented with!

The second time I’ve been here in a couple of months, breakfast was absolutely delicious and such great value. Coffee was hot too. Service was very friendly, would recommend if you are in the area. Thank you

I have never been as envious of my husbands choice of food as I was here. His slice of coffee and walnut cake looked gorgeous, although I must say that my cheese scone was delicious. What more could we ask for as we also had a lovely pot of tea? Nothing, it was all we could ask for.

I took my friend out for breakfast last week, and we were met with friendly service. The breakfast was delicious and offered great value for the price. I would definitely recommend this place for a visit.

Well… where I start!! Booked a table for 6. After being seated the waitress came for our drinks order. We waited more than 10 mins for these to arrive. Then we ordered lunch. Lunch arrived but no cutlery. Ask the waitress for these and had to wait yet again while our food was getting cold!! Then came desert…… having had another long wait the cakes were put on the table in amongst the finished lunch plates and numerous cups and teapots!! We had to eat the cakes with our dirty lunch plates next to us. Very bad service skills!!! Will not be recommending this establishment for a lovely afternoon out. Waitresses need to be more on the ball on waiting tables!!!
