So i got a steak on a stone. Ive had this many times and its my preferred choice. I got a sirloin steak, fully aware that it has more fat than other steaks, hence the taste. However, it was a 10oz steak, and honestly , 80% of it was fat, i could barely get my knife through it. I dont usually complain, but i was hungry and literally couldn't eat it. I sent it back to the kitchen, and it was agreed it was inedible......so i was offered 10% off!!!! 10% off a meal i could only eat 20% of!!! I will NEVER eat there again. Poor poor poor customer service and rubbish steak at a steak restaurant!!! Go somewhere else, save your money

Our first Christmas Dinner at The Firepit. Starters were nice Camembert, Ribs. Main Course dominated by a large, very dry Yorkshire Pudding. Small portions and poor quality of other ingredients 3 small Roast Potatoes, tiny stuffing, little gravy. Had to ask for salt Cranberry Sauce. Desserts Cheese Board very good, cheesecake not as advertised. Definitely not worth £100 inc. 1 drink.

Amazing place! Friendly attentive staff. Yes it’s a little pricey but it’s worth it for freshly cooked food and yes it takes a little longer to arrive but again it’s freshly cooked! I’d hate to order chicken and it be served to me within 10 minutes!! I believe if you’re in good company, you shouldn’t be checking your watch!!

Even though we live close by, we hadn't visited this restaurant in a while. I was pleased to see that the decor and lighting had improved, and the seating area had been expanded slightly. Our orders were taken quickly, including our drinks order. However, when our wine arrived, it was just left on the table unopened for us to pour ourselves. Despite the busy atmosphere, our food arrived after about 25 minutes - one steak on a hot stone and one order of ribs, accompanied by some extras. The staff were attentive and checked on us to make sure everything was okay. We asked for some vinegar for our chips, which was promptly brought to us. The food was delicious, hot, and satisfying. We decided to pass on dessert. When the bill arrived, we noticed that a 10% service charge had been added, which we assumed was for the staff. Hopefully, the management will address the slippery floors around the bar area to prevent any accidents. When we returned home, our clothes still smelled of cooking smoke, reminding us why we hadn't visited The Firepit in a while.

The food was satisfactory, but the service was lacking. It took a long time for us to place our drink orders, and even longer for our drinks to be served. Adding a 10% service charge to the bill automatically felt like a slight when the service had been subpar.
