What Philip Matthews doesn't like about Cock Magpie:
Booked a table for eight adults and three children when ordering the meals were told that there was no bacon for the all day breakfast which is bad when your son owns the butchers about half a mile away and no wraps this was only...at in the afternoon hope they can do better next time if I give them a second chance. We just called in for a drink but the landlady had put out sausages, chips and bread buns for anyone to help themselves so ended up staying for lunch! Very friendly and cosy lovely real fire to keep the place toasty on a very cold day.Good selection of beers.Food is served on Friday, Saturday Sunday afternoons/evenings at present but from the middle of March will be served every day. We will be going back for a meal... View all feedback.

read moreThe pub is located in a beautiful spot with a recent refurbishment, but unfortunately, the food and service fall short of expectations. On the other hand, the locals enjoy the cozy atmosphere and decent food at reasonable prices. The traditional setting offers a charming vibe, great for drinks or a meal after a walk. Despite some flaws, the staff are friendly and attentive, providing a relaxed experience for patrons. Overall, mixed reviews suggest varied experiences but highlight the pub's potential as a local hangout with good value. Whether you're seeking a casual drink or a hearty meal, it's a decent spot to consider.
