I found the food just wonderful, and it really was such a treat after settling for home cooking and mediocre takeaways for such a long time. The staff were so friendly and warm,...the ambience cosy. I loved my starter of monkfish adapted for my coeliac diet and the gorgeous John Dory. It was all so tasty. My only suggestion I’d have loved some gf fresh home baked bread. Those who had the lamb loved it, and the spicy mussels starter was great.

Sadie has worked wonders transforming the walled in area into a gorgeous comfortable space. You would hardly know you were outside. Tables very well...spaced out, outdoor heaters, marquee type cover overhead, lots of blankets if you wanted one. Evening we had dinner was dry but even if there was rain you'd be comfortable and well protected. Food, as usual, was amazing. The set dinner is great value and included a little amuse bouche type bite, bread and a little chocolate at the end. The sheep's cheese and chard cannelloni starter was so tasty as was the beer battered monkfish. The vegetarian option main course sounded great but we opted for the lamb and the john dory. Between the four of us we tried all three desserts and all proclaimed our own choice the best option. Nice wine/ drinks list. Another great evening had by all- we'll certainly be back again.

This restaurant offers everything you could ask for - a warm welcome, lovely ambiance, exceptional service, and a menu full of innovative dishes crafted from locally sourced and sometimes even foraged ingredients. I have recommended this restaurant to friends multiple times, confident that they will enjoy it as much as I do. The consistently high quality of the food always leaves me impressed, making Pilgrims my top restaurant choice worldwide.
