My husband and I often go here. We've been going to Roseville for many years. Always good food. Large parts. But be ready to be very busy, especially at weekends. Have extra time if the line is out of the door. Very popular with locals. Everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and covered. It was worth it. Only good old fashion country food at a great price. Usually I take half the meal home the portions are so big. Nice place to just kick back and enjoy the morning at a cozy pace with a good cup of hot coffee and have good food and good conversation without feeling hurried. Your chili is also great, especially on a cold day. Can't say enough good things about this neighborhood restaurant.
I've been going to this restaurant for 17 years. There are many reasons why I went there so long. You have great customer service from waiters who have been there for years. Very comfortable environment. Excellent food from chefs that have been there for years. Customer service is their main priority. If you go in there, they'll remember you the next time. You could not ask for a friendly, better tasting restaurant.
We went yesterday to Susies in Roseville (Sunday at 9:30 am for a nice relaxing breakfast. We had recently bought an entertainment book and that was the first place we tried to provide with the discount voucher. Standing, at the front entrance there was a big young man waiting with reddish orange hair took us directly at an open stand in front of the rear room and placed two menus on a side table and began to go away. I asked why we were sitting on a table when we were asked for a stand – he just smiled and went away. Hello? My wife and I sat and looked at the menu. One of about 5 young people working there brought us water and cutlery and told us a server would be with us shortly.... We sat patiently there for almost 20 minutes watching other people coming, sitting, ordering and actually being served while waiting for our server. We finally began to realize that we sat in a server area and we observed that the other server took care of the other section tables. When we started going, one of the young ladies said that the server was right with us. (Didn't we hear that almost half an hour before? Magically a server other than the one we have observed to bend the tables around us came out of breath and finally took our order! Ten minutes later we had food and the food was really pretty good. As we ate, we observed many tables that ask the server for a napkin, ketchup, more water, etc., while the young “help” people stood together in the doorway joking/chatting. We stood up and stood in line to pay our bill and watched the older male cashier ask how they liked their meal. When I paid, he saw the entertainment coupon that was stacked on the recipe and just gave me a change. He did not ask “how were things?” like him with others – Deity! What do we think of Susie? Actually, they were busy and the food wasn't bad. If they needed more time to train their young people there, it might have been different. Our server was safely overworked and the helper would have taken a lot of pressure from the server by bringing the napkins, ketchup, etc. they wanted. The possibility is also that we are ignorant of the red hairy child in “NO-MANS-LAND”. This is an area that is not assigned to any server that is overlooked by the administration. Also, perhaps one of the servers that were called sick this day – two servers did not seem enough. We do not recommend Susie – at least on a Sunday. We kicked happily and brightly and left angry and annoyed – we would have been better to go to Dennys (what we only go if nothing else is available by the way, the reason why I wrote a detailed account here was hopefully both Susie’s and Entertainment were some hopeful constructive feedback (and venting! And yes, we had a tip – the server tried bravely to take care of us, it might have done an excellent job if it had more effective help.
