I returned today with some hesitation, as I enjoy barbecue and didn't want a full sit-down meal. In my previous visits, I noticed a sign on the door listing the items they were out of, and it seemed like there were more items unavailable than in stock! It was particularly puzzling that they were out of big baking potatoes, especially since there's a grocery store right in the same parking lot. They could easily pick up some potatoes until the next delivery arrives—it's not rocket science. This might explain why they were previously owned. However, the new owners are friendly and genuinely want to create a great experience. They will need to rebuild the business from the ground up, and I hope they succeed, as I often find myself rotating through pizza, burgers, or tacos for a quick meal. While I haven’t tried everything on the menu yet, at least what I wanted was available. I look forward to returning to try more items.
The staff was incredibly friendly and offered excellent menu suggestions for us as first-timers. Surprisingly, the creamy spinach was outstanding, especially for a BBQ place! The jalapeño cheese kielbasa had a fantastic kick to it, too!
One thing that bothers me is that employees on lunch should be informed to use the back seating area instead of the first table at the entrance, especially if there isn’t a dedicated lunch area for them. Overall, the visit was enjoyable, but some improvements are necessary to make it truly outstanding. I appreciate that previous employees were let go, and I hope that the new hires receive proper training from Dickey's Barbecue Pit, especially in customer service and appearance. It’s important for them to represent the restaurant well, as AirPods, casual shirts, sagging pants, crocs, and good hygiene are essential. Thank you again for a nice lunch; it was much appreciated!
I am extremely unhappy with my latest visit. When I was paying for my food the clerk told me that my card did not go through even though everything seemed to. Hesitantly I ran my card a second time. While waiting for my food I checked my online bankingand sure enough just as I suspected there were two charges for my order. I informed the manager/ owner and she assured me theduplicate charge would not go through but was only pending. The next morning I checked my bank account and both charges wentthrough and processed. I immediately called Dickys and spoke to the same manager/ owner and again she said that she would fix itimmediately and reverse the charge. I have waited all week and still this hasn't been fixed so I now will have to go through mybank to try and get my money back. This is absolutely unacceptable and makes me wonder if this is a common occurrence at thisrestaurant. I wonder how many people have been double charged and never noticed? All I can say is I will not return to thislocation. I was a weekly regular customer but I will not return after this.
