Under renovations, you can tell this place needed it badly. Was somewhat skeptical when I entered because there is a major reno going on. At 98 buck a night I think its one of the better deals to be had. It even came with a small continental breakfast! The room was really nice , everything is new. Absolutely no complaints here, would advise anyone to stay here. View all feedback.
What Zelma Satterfield doesn't like about Heartland Motor Inn:
This restaurant is in a sorry state. The entrance is dirty and the lounge smells bad, likely due to the open doors. The rooms are slightly better, but overall the whole place needs a good cleaning. The continental breakfast consists of spicy muesli, juice, and toast, but the breakfast area is lacking. I arrived at 6 a.m. only to find half-empty trays of multigrain and white bread. Staying at hotel with our hockey team, did not arrive to check in until midnight, was -25 out and our room had no heat, it was ICE cold! Had a large heater/ac covered in ice that would not work, managed to get the small baseboard...heater to turn on. Went to front desk to ask for extra blankets and told them how freezing my room was and that I could not get much heat out of the heater, all he said was to try fiddling with it , he would not come to see. After I returned to the room my daughter went to get under the covers, and felt something on her feet, there was at least 24 pieces of dried fruit and USED wax covered ear plugs in the sheets! I went back to the front desk and demanded they change the sheets, he said he would have to give me a new room. So at 1 AM we were hauling hockey equipment and our luggage down the hall to a better HEATED room, and this bedding seemed to be clean. The next morning our team went for their continental breakfast, which consisted of toast with jam (no peanut butter) and stale cereal, and one pot of coffee for 30 people. When I went to check out, they were still going to charge me the full rate, which I refused. I ended up not being charged for the room. Have never been so disgusted with a hotel!!!!!
Travel. Stay in swift current or kindersley. The only thing that will save this hotel is a match and maybe some diesel. On a good note, the roof did not leak. (Of course it was the middle of winter)
After undergoing renovations, this restaurant is a must-visit. I was initially hesitant when I walked in due to the extensive renovation, but at $98 per night, I believe it offers one of the best deals around. Additionally, it even includes a small continental breakfast. The room was beautifully decorated and everything appeared new. I have no complaints whatsoever and would highly recommend staying here.
I have to be honest, when I first arrived at the motel and saw the exterior, it looked like a construction site with torn carpet and a ladder. I was quite skeptical about staying there. It was clear that renovations were needed. However, when I entered my room, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it had been renovated and looked nice inside. Everything from the floor coverings to the bedding was new. I believe that once the renovations are complete, it will be a great place to stay. For now, they are just trying to make it through without causing chaos in the hallways.
