Ordered to go twice this year as we passed through the town. 4 stars for the big roll portion. The Terriyaki is different to most of others as it more of onion sauce but it’s not bad. Friendly staff. View all feedback.
What Nikolas Veum doesn't like about Ami Japanese:
The restaurant has a sturdy and worn exterior, and it doesn't have any impressive lighting. As someone who works in politics, I find it a bit intimidating, especially since many of the business buildings in Roseburg are abandoned. However, I suppose that's part of its charm. This is undoubtedly the best sushi in Roseburg. The sushi rolls are generously sized, and the fish consistently tastes fresh. My wife and I have been coming here for three years and have never been let down. In addition to sushi, the Korean BBQ on the menu is also excellent. It's a family-run restaurant, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming, even when they’re busy preparing the rolls right in front of you.
This restaurant offers the largest rolls I've ever encountered. The tuna was fresh and rich, and the portion size was generous. It didn't take much to fill me up. The fish was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. The staff was incredibly friendly. I will definitely be returning soon!

Inside, you'll only find locals from Roseburg. The cook and the waitress are both very friendly. Although they jokingly called me cheap behind my back, both the service and the food were pleasant. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food is simple but good. Also, the stone bowl for the bibimbap takes some time to heat up, which I think is worthwhile.

I've been going to Ami for about a dozen years and it's always been consistently great food and service. The family who runs it are very personable and friendly, and the waitress they have now is prompt and knowledgeable. The fish tastes fresh, the the rolls are humongous, and the prices are reasonable. If you like very traditional sushi, don't bother. If you're up for something fun and unique, go here. If you LOVE delicious Korean bbq, definitely make the stop!
