What User doesn't like about The Velo Precinct:
Arrived for brunch/lunch on a Sunday, the place is well suited to kids and dogs on a leash. We ordered our food and waited for an hour for our food which came out spasmodically, at least 20 minutes between the first four and the last to. The food was very average, not again thank you. Met some friends here this morning and after 2 hours and 10 minutes with the chef not even starting our meals yet we left. This place simply does not have the ability to deal with busy periods. A kids party was there at the time & we ordered in amongst the guests at the party. At the time of ordering we were told there would be a 45 minute wait. This meant we should have had our food at 1030 - 1045, which is fine. At 11am we asked where our food was & it had not even been started yet. We noticed a table who ordered after us got their meals and so at 1130 we went up to ask where our food was and once again we were told it had not even been started yet...again!The party were up to cutting their cake...and still our food was not even thought of yet. The only other table in the cafe got their food before us...and still our food was not thought of yet.Yes, I appreciate they were busy, but come on, if a chef can't handle 'busy periods' they should get another job. At no stage did the staff come check on us, offer us any compensation ie: coffee/tea or a simple apology, it was only us going up twice to check on our food to only be told 'it hasn't been started yet'. After 2 hours and 10 minutes we had enough and had to ask for our money back. It was completely baffling to be told after that amount of time the chef had not started our meals yet when we were the only people left in the cafe - what was the chef doing, having a break?? Five star restaurants in Adelaide do not even take that long for several courses and this is merely a cafe. After our first query as to the whereabouts of our food the staff member should have gone into the chef, told him there was a stuff up and got him to make our food first, not serve the other table who had ordered their food long after we had ordered ours. This is not a once off event. This has happened several times since it has been open and I do normally refuse to go to the place because of its bad service but as it is kid friendly it was chosen for our catch up. The problem with it being so isolated you can't just walk next door to try another place so we all went home & had Hungry Jacks. Terrible, terrible service, will never ever go back. Young staff do not know how to handle 'busy' periods and just put their head down and ignore the patrons.
Came in to catch up with friends at a private event and the finger food was very tasty and a great variety. The event itself was well managed and beverages ice cold. I finished off with an excellent barista made coffee. The staff where all very friendly. Definitely recommend a visit

Called in for a coffee with a friend just to see what it was like. We ordered coffee which was nice and served to your table. They have a section for mums and kids in another room which was noisy but if you like the sound of kids having fun then this place is perfect. Lots of bike memorabilia line the walls. I would definitely go back on a sunny day and hopefully we can sit outside.
