What Nick P dislikes about Fred's Of Roscommon:
I've been visiting this restaurant for years, but I must admit that the service I experienced this time was the worst I've ever encountered. Although the waitress was friendly, I found it frustrating to wait over an hour while I saw other customers who were seated after us receiving their food. View all feedback.

They were a bit understaffed, so wait times were a tad longer than one would prefer. Caesar salad was very good.
Freds' is ok, maybe not as good as it once was, but still ok.
Love this quaint dinner. BBQ pulled pork sandwich with was
Food is so so. Ordered Nacos and got a half of a handful of lettuce, minimal cheese, and minimal meat. Not worth the 13.00.
Always great food and service. Their prime rib is delicious!
Fred's, a charming restaurant with a bowling alley, offers a cozy cabin ambiance and a diverse menu. Diners rave about the delicious food, particularly the perch dish and vegan options like veggie pizza with cauliflower crust. However, service inconsistency has marred some visits, with long wait times for both seating and food. While many praise attentive and friendly staff, others express disappointment over service delays, particularly during busy hours. Overall, Fred's presents a tantalizing dining experience with potential for improvement in service efficiency, making it a spot worth revisiting for its culinary delights.

Fred's is the best restaurant in Roscommon. The food, service, and atmosphere all earn a perfect score of 5.
The food was excellent. However, I had to wait quite a while to receive part of my order. Even after requesting a refill on my iced tea, I never received it. While the server was friendly, they were not very attentive. The restaurant featured lovely decor, but it was quite noisy, making it difficult to have a conversation. The food was excellent! If you order fried dishes, they use a fantastic beer batter, and the oil is clean, resulting in a golden brown color instead of being dark and greasy. Also, Alicia provided great service during lunch!
The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We had a table of ten, and our waitress was incredibly helpful and friendly. I was thrilled to see cauliflower crust pizza on the menu, and after trying it, I can confidently say it's the best cauliflower crust pizza I've ever had. I highly recommend this place!
I didn't end up dining here. When my father and I arrived, there was no sign indicating whether we should seat ourselves, and no one was at the door to greet us, so we decided to take a seat. A waitress then informed us that there were people waiting to be seated, yet most of the tables were unoccupied. She mentioned that we would have to wait 20 minutes. However, there was no one visibly waiting, and she directed us to wait in a room that didn't exist. Frustrated, we opted to leave instead of potentially spending two hours there. It felt like she didn't provide the full picture. Overall, the service was poor—no signage to indicate whether we should wait or seat ourselves, no host at the entrance, and an odd situation with being asked to wait in a non-existent room.
The food at this restaurant is quite good, and I believe it has the potential to be exceptional. The staff is friendly and attentive, but I feel that with the right ambiance, it could genuinely offer a 5-star experience. They do close a little early, but I appreciate their willingness to accommodate personal requests.
Kid-friendliness: There's a bowling area, which is great for families. The pizza is excellent too! Parking: There’s plenty of parking available along the length of the building, plus additional spaces since it’s a bowling alley with an attached restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: There are multiple ramps and accessible restrooms.

The restaurant is spotlessly clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was outstanding.
The food at this restaurant is fantastic, offering a diverse selection of options. I highly recommend trying the perch dish. The Sanders fudge dessert is also a delightful throwback that evokes fond memories.
The food and service at this restaurant were outstanding. Logan was an extraordinary server, and she definitely deserves a substantial raise.
The olive burger was amazing, and it's not often that I come across a place with perfect onion rings, but this one really delivered. If I'm ever in Roscommon again...
I have consistently enjoyed a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The service and the food are always exceptional.

The food at this restaurant is excellent, and the service is outstanding. We dined here one evening and were so impressed that we returned for lunch. The dishes are always served hot, and you really can't make a bad choice with anything on the menu.
The food was decent, but the service was lacking. My wife had to wait 30 minutes with her salad and no silverware, and I was only asked if I wanted more coffee once in an hour. While we got a table quickly, it took an hour and twenty minutes to place our order and receive our food—no exaggeration. I understand it was a Friday evening, but my family was really hungry by the time our meals finally arrived.
We can't recommend this fantastic restaurant highly enough! While traveling on I-75 to Cheboygan, we stumbled upon this charming spot after checking out its tempting menu online. We dined there on Friday and returned today, and we were truly impressed by the beautiful decor, exceptional service, and delicious food. We strongly recommend trying the Hungarian Mushroom Soup, Beer Battered Cod, Calzones, White Chicken Chili, and the homemade pizza with its amazing sauce. Although we didn’t sample everything in one visit, we managed to taste each other's dishes over our two visits. Plus, they even have bowling available! Yes, please!
We were told there would be a 30-minute wait, but we noticed that four tables stayed empty for 45 minutes. After waiting for an hour, we were finally seated, only to find out it would be a while before we could place our order, even though several tables had cleared since we got there. After waiting another 30 minutes, we decided to leave. I understand they might be short-staffed, but the wait for seating and service was very disappointing. It’s unfortunate that the diligent staff are missing out on tips because customers like us were eager to spend.
What a fantastic place in Roscommon! The atmosphere inside is charming, and I thoroughly enjoyed my beer-battered cod dinner. The cherry butter that accompanied the warm rolls is simply delicious. The highlight of our visit was our server, Tosha T. She provided outstanding service while expertly managing all the tables around us—such a considerate and attentive server! We will definitely make Fred’s a must-visit when we come back to the area.

The service at this restaurant was excellent; the staff were friendly, enthusiastic, and very accommodating. The food has always been delicious, and I frequently ask the servers for their recommendations on what to order. The only downside is that it can get a bit noisy at times.
Fred's is a one-of-a-kind venue that combines a restaurant, bar, and bowling alley all in one spot. We started our meal with their amazing homemade chicken soup, which was absolutely delightful. I also tried...

Fred's is an outstanding restaurant that also features a bowling alley. As soon as you walk in, you’re welcomed by a cozy, cabin-like atmosphere. We initially came for some bowling, but we were pleasantly surprised to discover a menu that included a veggie pizza with a cauliflower crust option. Although we had read online about an Impossible Burger, our waitress informed us that it wasn't available. The veggie pizza was somewhat smaller than I expected, but it was bursting with flavor, especially since I ordered it without cheese. I can't wait to come back for more bowling, and I hope they consider adding more vegan options in the future.
