Having stopped many times at The Eel for family hols as well as boys fishing trips previously its been great to come back and what a week we chose. So many storms already forgot their names! But how great it was to come back to 1st class accommodation and a warm welcome. The dinner, service, and staff were all top-notch. You will leave satisfied and extremely pleased.
We spent one night in June 2024 and had a fantastic time at this restaurant. Our room was roomy with cozy beds, and the expansive balcony offered a stunning view of the lake and countryside. The dinner and breakfast were both tasty, with quick and efficient table service. The only downside was the distracting noise from two televised sporting events during dinner. Unfortunately, we encountered an issue with a lack of hot water in the ensuite bathroom. The staff apologized and attempted to fix the problem, but were ultimately unsuccessful.
Amazing food, lovely staff. An amazing local place if you're ever near Carrick-on-Shannon or Rooskey.
Been here a few times over the years, it's a hit and miss, sometimes it's lovely and friendly staff and good food and sometimes staff haven't got the time for you and the food is OK.
We had a lovely lunch here, it was a treat to be able to call in by boat with a good mooring spot The staff were really friendly and helpful The food was great and arrived quickly after ordering We were there on a Sunday and the place was busy There was a slight wait time before we got seated at a table but it gave us the opportunity to enjoy the sunny day outside Overall the silver eel was very enjoyable and if passing by and you want to stop for a bite to eat it is not a bad option
