Speedway - Roscoe
Speedway
Description
At a renovated Speedway location in Illinois, travelers find a clean, well-priced stop with tidy parking, maintained restrooms and an inviting outdoor area. Service stands out—team members often go beyond menu limits to prepare fresh, made-to-order burgers—yet corporate choices have removed customizable cheeseburgers and a prepay policy has caused payment holds for some customers. An isolated rude encounter was reported, but friendly staff and solid value make this a recommended pit stop for commuters and road trippers.

Speedway has stopped offering customizable cheeseburgers, which I find absolutely ridiculous. It seems odd to have wraps, pizza, and sandwiches available while neglecting classic American cheeseburgers. However, I must commend the customer service I received. When I asked the cook, Yolanda, if she could make me a burger with toppings since they only have pre-made plain burgers, she went above and beyond and prepared a double cheeseburger loaded with toppings. I was more than happy to pay extra for it, as it was incredibly fresh and delicious. People like Yolanda deserve to be recognized and promoted for their excellent service. I'm giving my five stars to her, rather than the company, because it really doesn’t make sense to remove the best gas station burgers around. #BringBackTheBurger
I previously visited Speedy Café before its renovation, and I thought it looked nice, but the new remodel gives it a modern and sleek appearance. Additionally, their new menu items are absolutely delicious!
Pump prices changed .30 cents from time I pulled in and started pumping gas. I'll never go to this Price gouging place again. You are WARNED
Large gas station at the entrance to Hwy. 90 off of Rockton Rd. Good choice of drinks and snacks. Not super busy, gas prices in line with the rest in the area. They also have slots in a locked designated area. You won't get in without an ID, so kudos tothem.
