When the new owners took over a few years ago, I noticed alot of upset community members annoyed with the change in quality. However, it's great to see that the new owners have taken reviews and feedback into account because the quality is great now and the customer service is very friendly. Good on these guys for working to improve because it shows! View all feedback.
What Bodhi S doesn't like about Banyule Fish Chippery:
1 star: Last week, I ordered a veggie burger from this place. When I took a bite, I discovered there was no veggie patty inside! This creative establishment just took out the...
The portions are incredibly generous, and they always provide extra servings. Over the past year, I've noticed an improvement in their cooking skills. It's wonderful to support the locals and such a lovely family.
The lamb and vegetarian souvlakis are outstanding. The fish and chips and other dishes are also quite good.
We usually order from Banksia Fish and Chips, but this time we decided to try Banyule Fish Chippery. Unfortunately, the three grilled flake fillets were all undercooked, and the potato cakes were soggy. In fact, we were so disappointed with the entire $42 order—which included dim sims and chips—that we ended up tossing it down our garbage disposal. We quickly placed another order with Banksia Fish and Chips on Banksia Street.
We were hoping that our new local fish and chips would be great, and would be back in a flash if the quality improved. Specifically: batter is too sweet, sugar is totally unnecessary and yuck, batter is too thick, should be thin and crispy, not like a cake, fish pretty dry, potato cakes again covered in stodge cakey batter. If the owners have the time and inclination, please make a point of visiting Fish on High on High Street Thornbury. If you could produce fish and chips like this, you would have a dedicated following and could charge much more...... And we would be happy
Silences are a lot and then you are better at being able to get to know you better and then the rest are the ones you can do it and I think that is a very good idea
