Superbe accueil. La carte reprend les recettes régionales. La salade gourmande un vrai délice. Les joues de porc au miel succulent. Je conseille à tous de venir dans ce restaurant. View all feedback.
What Brigitta Kramer doesn't like about Hotel-Restaurant La Couronne:
déplorable! une seule serveuse pour 50 personnes, patrons pas aimables, servent des pommes de terre à l'eau "toutes faites " sans savoir qu'elles contiennent du beurre alors qu'il y avait un problème d'allergies et que lors de la réservation cela avait été bien spécifié.... etc,etc View all feedback.
Stayed one night en route from Italy to UK. Had an excellent traditional Alsace evening meal at great value. A good menu selection typical of the region with specials based on the new asparagus season. Marvellous starter of frogs legs in butter garlic parsley sauce,...deliciously tender and reared by the hotel owner; more than enough for 2 people. Mains were veal cordon blue and an entrecôte steak. Both cooked perfectly using locally sourced meat. Steak super tender and tasty. Good honest food in simple manner. Shared a nice home made desert. Tried the house white and red wines, perfectly acceptable. E100 including aperitifs and coffee. Room was in a separate annex. Typical of a 2 star and comfortable with good size bathroom. Clean and tidy. Wi fi in room but not in main hotel/restaurant. Simple traditional French breakfast. Accommodation inc tax and breakfast E77.60. Would recommend hotel, restaurant and certainly use again. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
I have chosen this hotel as a more convenient place to stop that from calais en route to have a few. it is directly at the German border and has broken the trip nicely. the check-in was very easy and we were very welcome. there's a lot...of parking. the rooms are located in a separate building on the back. they are immaculately clean, modern and comfortable. pleasant modern bathroom with good shower. wifi worked well. the only small thing we had was to wait until the bar restaurant reopened around 17.30 when we liked to have a cold beer after a long trip. unfortunately we only had to wait as they set up for the evening. once in the owners were charming, friendly and helpful. the restaurant was busy very quickly, but with minimal staff they were brilliantly efficient and we were visited too fantastic. good fischerbier. the tartes flambées that they have torn out with a very fast pace are great as starters or for picking at a beer. They also make a great dessert tarte with apple. they have the traditional chouc route asacienne on the menu or sour wort with smoked meat, sausage potatoes etc. it was very substantial and they must be hungry, but delicious. there is a good selection of local wines that are excellent. there are many options on the menu and daily specialties. for those who travel with young family children, children seemed very welcome and well looked after. a pleasant stay, great value and friendly.
To all race goers to Baden-Baden, who can live with a modest hotel room for <50 euors but(!! enjoy the access to a great plae to eat you should consider this restaurant/hotel. food was good, well done and not overly decorated. Winelist is sufficiently diverse....and its less than 10 minutes to the races.
