What User doesn't like about Rooty Hill Chinese:
I'm convinced that the special roasted rice we ordered wasn't cooked fresh that day. The shrimp seemed artificial and were just placed on top to justify the higher price for special fried rice. The salt and pepper also had a stale taste, as if they were reheated from the previous day. Seriously, don't waste your time at this place. Haven’t been back here for a while as last time was pretty bad … (used to be really good .tonight we ordered a take away and it was awful… really bad . I’m not one to write reviews but I had to as it was absolutely bland and dry …. The dishes only had two vegetables ..carrot and celery.been let down too many times
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and portion sizes of the food at Rooty Hill Chinese Restaurant. The satay had just the right amount of spice and was not oily at all. The chicken and vegetable dish featured generous chunks of fresh veggies and plenty of chicken. The Mongolian beef had a nice kick and included lovely slices of carrots throughout. The crispy sweet and sour pork was generously sauced, and the steamed dim sims were perfect, while the spring rolls were enjoyable as well. Everything was delightful. Although we had to wait about 10 extra minutes beyond the estimated time given over the phone, it was definitely worth the wait. In fact, we found some extra treats included in our order, presumably as a gesture of goodwill for the delay. The young man at the counter was incredibly friendly, and the kitchen staff were welcoming and cheerful whenever they peeked into the dining area.
I really love the food here; I believe it's the best in Rooty Hill.
