Being from from Cincinnati, OH, my mom grew up on Skyline's chilli. However, now that she's vegetarian, she thought she wouldn't be able to have it again. I was driving and, to my surprise, I passed a Skyline I thought they were only in Ohio! So, if course I made a U turn. We tried the vegetarian chilli with the 3 and 4 way and everything was absolutely delicious! It seemed too simple for any kind of wow factor, but... View all feedback.
What Carol Mccoy doesn't like about Skyline Chili:
I read that they were closing/moving so today I drove 9 miles in the pouring rain to have some since I have not been there in years. When I got there the open sign was lit up (5:30 pm). I had already checked their website for menu and times, it said open until 7pm. Sign said drive thru only so I called and got a message that said they close at 4:30pm. On the drive home a man from Skyline Chili called me, I said I dro... View all feedback.
Did not offer hot sauce or crackers. Update based on owners response crackers come at the beginning of every meal regardless of what you have ordered.
I got in the drive thru at 6:28pm. After 52 minutes of waiting, at 7:20, I finally made it to the window to order and was informed they were closed. There were numerous cars still in line behind me. If they closed promptly at 7pm without serving those already in line, it’s still incredibly unprofessional, but there is zero excuse for having people continue to wait only to not serve them. If they’d have at least had the decency to inform cars in line, I’d have only wasted 32 minutes instead of 52. A lot of people have posted negative reviews about the drive thru service, and I have zero issue with it being completely drive thru or the long wait times, but the way it was operated is absolutely unconscionable to allow people to waste that kind of time and not even serve them food or apologize. UPDATE: The owner posted a response claiming to have informed those in line at 6:50pm that the line was closed, which simply isn’t true. Regardless, I was in line 22 minutes PRIOR to that. The parking lot nor line was roped off. I certainly wouldn’t have waited, nor would have multiple other cars behind me. He also accused me of being profane which is impressive considering I never spoke with a single employee—instead, I was just rudely gestured at when I got to the window after having waited for close to an hour. Mistakes happen, but at least take accountability. I left a voicemail for the owner to try to clear thing up and yet again give the benefit of the doubt, and he left a return voicemail again failing to apologize and saying that people were vile. I was never rude to a single employee because not even a single employee had the decency to communicate. It’s unfortunate if the owner has dealt with rude individuals in the past, but having dealt with him now, I feel his lack of professionalism was the likely cause. Acknowledging mistakes and apologizing goes a long way; trying to place the blame on others and being rude to customers for your mistakes is not a good business practice. I’ll be contacting corporate now given his response and filing a complaint with the BBB. I’m incredibly disappointed in the tone of the owner and his lack of professionalism in dealing with those who are trying to support a local business.
Never had the food here. No way in hell to get a truck into the drive through. Looks good but horrible location.
I like the food but for the price the portions are ridiculous.. a small 3 way is over 6 bucks and the hotdogs are tiny... 6 little hotdogs and 2 small 3 ways $30.00.. craziness I tell you...
Who doesn’t love this place?!? We always make a point to stop. We get the coney dogs and the four way chili every time. Always friendly service and a must visit!
