What Sandra Bailey doesn't like about Dukes Head:
Bought a Groupon voucher as a present for my son and his wife. They have just used the voucher and described it as the worst meal they have ever eaten out!! Very few choices on the menu and found a piece of plastic in the vegetables. They received a discount of £1.00 for this (OMG) View all feedback.
We went this pub to celebrate a friend's birthday last night. What we got was cold lukewarm food and a really bad service. Birthday girl did not get her main course until everyone finished their main meal (obviously staff messed up the order). For serving the cake, I had to ask for cutlery. No apologies nothing. Pricey for what turned out to be mediocre and cold tasteless food. Avoid.
Really nice food the sauce with my steak was out of this world, and staff were really friendly and helpful, will I be returning...... Damn right.
What a great little pub....some tasteful changes have been made by the current landlords, the food is great and the relaxing outdoor areas are a joy in the sun....come the evenings the lanterns and fleeces are a welcome luxury

So disappointed, after visiting the area with my wife, where I spent much of my childhood Awbridge, Dunbridge and Mottisfont , we called into the Dukes Head (pre booked) for lunch. Thought we would have the main meals of Belly of pork strips, and fish of the day, to be informed, no fish, waiting for delivery , and we have no belly of pork, so we obviously had to order an alternative , which was a let down, I thought the three sausage meal , on flavoured mash, with gravy was over priced, no other vegetables. For sweet, we had creme brûlée, which again, was not as we would have expected , also was so overpriced at £8-50 each . The visit was a disapointmrnt, particularly with regard to the prices. In general, we thought the menu choice was very limited. .
