So many memories at this place. I am heartbroken that they need to close after 7+ yrs of love, respest and all around good times. There has never been a place where people can come together and forget about the outside world and just enjoy a great beer, amazing music and engage in conversations of life without the feeling of being judged. To everyone who has yet to visit; go there and raise a glass and take in the po... View all feedback.
What Andy M doesn't like about Metal Monkey Brewing:
I waited a long time to go to this hidden Brewery in industrial Zone and this was a total waste of time there were hardly anyone working there and thus the service was very slow and the two beers I tried that they made themselves were skunky and not very tasty the place was odd and didn't look up Captain or clean and they had some very old furniture and couches and bad artwork this is a place to skip and will only gi... Cool brewery located in Romeoville that's good for metal heads. If you like to drink beer and listen to metal, why not do both and come here for a listen. Metal Monkey has a kind of strange location amongst warehouses. Getting here can be confusing. This is worth all the trouble. After hearing lots of good things about it, we came. It wasn't that busy, which was good. The taproom is pretty small. Cool theme for a brewery. Metal heads rejoice. As for the beer, quite a few. It's about $7 a pint. The best we had was the Rick. It's a pickle gose. This is made with actual pickle juice. Sour but good. There's lots more. Fun atmosphere. It's especially good for those who like to headbang. They also have live music of course so look into that if you would rather see heavy metal music actually performed.
Great sound system and great beer....we loved the Heavy Metal look to the place so many things to look at
I visited Metal Monkey on 7/30/2022 in the late afternoon. I visit craft breweries as a hobby. This was definitely a day of industrial parks. On my way into the industrial park to MM I passed a crematorium business. That was a new one for me but probably not unprecedented. MM definitely had a heavy metal vibe and decor. They also had a stage for live music and space to accommodate. The bathroom had a chalkboard for sanctioned graffiti seemed very patron friendly. The bartender was efficient and kind, I had a flight of 4 lighter beers (including wheats) at the low low price of $8, which is somewhat unheard of among 90% of craft breweries, although the samples were somewhere between 2-3oz. I still thought it was a good deal. The beer was crisp and had good mouth feel and aftertaste. The Wi-Fi worked well. I got a free brewery sticker when I asked. Spacious environment.

Metal Monkey is definitely in my top 3 for breweries in the area. The staff is friendly, the beer is awesome, and I've never had a problem snagging a seat. They also host craft fairs (artisan festivals) and they're a blast to attend. We also had some fun beer from them in the advent calendar that came out the end of 2021 (that they participated in with other breweries). 10/10 will be back!
