We had a lovely dinner after I asked my girlfriend to marry me. A perfect way to end our day together. The restaurant offered us the best table on the second floor with a view over the rest of the restaurant. The service was amazing with very nice waiters to help us throughout the evening. The 6 course dinner had a lot of variety with a combination of sea food and meat. We had the best beef tartare (with an almond mayonaise) we ever had. There was a focus on white wines to combine with the dishes. I liked the daring combination of a sweet (more dessert-like; comparable to a vinsanto) wine with their renowned carbonara to counter the strong taste of the cheese and salty bacon. In contrast, I did not seem to find the link in the risky combination of a red wine with fish in the dish we were served afterwards. I had the feeling the staff did everything they could to make us feel at ease and enjoy our dinner, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that appreciates a fine dining experience.
As our first Michelin experience, Pipero was great. Everything from the interior, to service, wine choice and dinner menu proposals surpassed our expectations. We had the 6-course tasting menu, which we highly recommend.
Inventive dishes great service and a relatively inexpensive wine list make for a really good combination and an evening to remember.
