We were looking for a place x dinner where to eat simple, Roman food and we found it. in the field of flowers without so many pretenses. Cute tavern, simple kitchen x what we were looking for, big dick and pepper. Dear children, try! View all feedback.
What Justsmileandnod dislikes about Dar Conte:
Just awful food and service avoid especially with kids. It's a great location but the food is not fresh or at least what we had or it arrives burnt. Service depends on the waiter, some are great, some are super rude and should be in the service industry. View all feedback.
We were greeted by a nice man that made us choose our table, we got the menu and few minutes later we gave our order. Beers arrived in few minutes €6 for a 33cl bottle) but had to wait more than half hour for the starters and we asked a waiter olive ascolane and fiori di zucca). After that, we had to wait a further half hour for our mains bucatini amatriciana and scaloppine al limone). When we finished the mains, it took another 25 minutes for the plates to be cleared and from that point we lost the interest in any dessert or even coffee. We asked for the bill which came quickly) and the owner/manager asked me if I wanted to leave something for the guys and if €5 was ok. I wasn 't interested in arguing so I just rounded our €57 to €60 and left. The food was quite good, we enjoyed every dish but the wait, lack of service and the waiters only interested in the next table not sure if friends or someone known in Rome) made my experience poor. In conclusion, good food, poor service and quite expensive.
Came here thinking it looked nice and would be authentic and I was very wrong. It was during the day, we shared deep fried Mozarella, aranchini and bruscetta. The mozarella was inedible due to being so fried it couldn’t be cut into, it literally flew off my plate. When we finally got into the mozarella hall it had nothing in it, no cheese. I asked the waiter over and told him and he just looked at me and smiled, took it back. They had the audacity to still leave the item on the bill in which I had to ask for it to be removed. No apology, we were ignored most of the time we were sat down having to wave people over for more drinks and the rest of the food was mediocre at best. Also gave us tap water and charged €3 Don’t waste your time with this place con

A very friendly and cosy and atmospheric restuarant with a lovely terraced area to enjoy your food in the goregous summer sun. Prices are affordable, the portion of food is enough for one, but we were happy enough to share one portion between two. The friendly and speedy service is topped by the warm and welcoming conversation you can make with the staff, who are there to ensure we would have a good time every evening. The owner was absolutely charming and she has made an extra effort to make us feel welcome on our first visit to Rome. If you are ever in the area, do give this place a try. It will not disappoint, I promise.
We ordered Margherita pizza and Greek salad, pizza was too stiff and e en bitter at some burnt areas, and the salad had no flavor. Service was very slow.
