Huta Slavia - Romania

On the way to Oradea, after a map update on GPS, we drove for the first time on National Road 1H Zalau - Alesd. Scenic route, excellent road surface, perfect for pleasure driving. By chance, we have found this place that seemed nice enough in the 2-3 seconds we had to decide to stop or not. Intriguing architecture, all wood (see photos), excellent service and food beyond expectation. We recomend all the slovak specialities. You will not regret to stop here. As the new version of gps maps will make more and more travelers from east to go this way and bypass Cluj area, I expect this place to become a main stop on the way to the border.

We were introduced to this place by friends who are working on the establishment of a new camp for children (Camp Falcon Rock). This place is a unique treasure with its log building design and excellent cuisine. Even though it might seem to be out of the way, I doubt anyone who has stopped would think that way. We only had dessert but the main courses going past our eyes to other tables looked great.

On our trip to Jibou, we stoped for a lunch break, at this wonderful spot. Nice location, on top of the hils, with a beautiful view.Excelent serving, with a menu based on traditional slovak food.A must try.Stop, have lunch or dinner, and you will not regret a second
