Next on the list was Ristorante Terme di Diocleziano! We were greeted quickly, and guided up to the roof terrace. Don 't let the description fool you, whilst it was certainly a 'terrace ', it was a room with a roof peeled back with a view not much to be desired. Non the less, it was cool and airy on a hot and humid night, so all in all, not much to complain about. The menu is good and varied, and the wine list diverse enough for most palates. We opted to go for something Italian and dry, and it turned out delicious. We opted for tomato mozzarella for a shared starter and a couple pasta dishes (think it was cheese and pepper for me, and Bolognese for the missus). All the food was bang on the money, and the pasta definitely of the fresh variety. All dishes were polished off (apart from the parmesan 'dish ' my pasta came in wasn 't sure if I was supposed to eat that as it was likely to put me in hospital if I did), and smiles all around. Overall 5 stars. The staff were very friendly, once they were warned up and the meal a cracking start to a trip in Rome. All in all, 69€ for a full meal and bottle of wine in one of the world 's most special cities is not to be sniffed at. I recommend if you come here, you will NOT be disappointed.
Round the corner from our hotel. Really lovely food but so rushed! Sat down, do you want water? Yes. 1 minute later...an aperitif yes G T please. It arrives. 2 mins later you are ready to order? Starters arrived barely 2 mins into G T and so it goes on......would have been great if we had a moment to enjoy!
Tutto buonissimo... cacio e pepe top, ravioli superlativi e saltimboccA Alla romana unici!
