We took a pleasant walk along the side of the River Tevere after visiting the Vatican in Rome and found ourselves in the area of Trastevere. We decided to stop at this bakery/restaurant located in Piazza G.G. Belli for a light lunch. A tall ice cold beer was 8 Euro, 0.5lt still water 2 Euro. A lovely portion of fresh, green salad for 6 Euro, but best of all was the delicious and beautifully presented Capricciosa Pizza for 7 Euro. Service was quick, staff were very pleasant. This was a lovely stop for a delicious, leisurely lunch. Highly recommend a visit for a meal or aperitivo if you are in the beautiful Trastevere area.
We asked the very nice lady behind the bar if the tiramisu was fresh and made today. She said yes. We took it and some other recommended dessert. Tiramisu's top layer was already hardened, gummy, obviously not fresh. The other dessert was funny tasting but since we did not know how it should taste, we ate it. Few hours later food poisoning strikes. Not recommended. Except for the lady. She was really welcoming.
Absolutely loved this cafe bar for breakfast coffee and fresh traditional italian pastries. Small but offers lots and turns into a bar at night offering dinner, although never tried this. Perfect for a stop off before segway tours in the local areas.
Authentic Italian – we were there every morning. Excellent coffee, delicious treats! The staff is so friendly, it instantly warms your heart! If you're looking for an Italian atmosphere and great coffee, this is the place. Plus, it's in a perfect location in beautiful Trastevere. Highly recommended!
