Contribute Feedback What Jason D doesn't like about Il Gelataio:
I ordered the dark chocolate, coffee, and banana flavours. My wife got dark chocolate, mixed fruit, and pistachio. Each flavour of mine were distinct but my wifes choices were muted and unclear. The menu was all in Italian and hard to decipher without translation software. Some pictures were clear, others not. I probably would not go again if I went. View all feedback.
We stayed in Ostia Antica for 2 days and Il Gelatio is the only gelateria in the town. It's located not so far from the ruins and it's perfect to eat gelato at this place after you visit the ruins on the hot day.

If you're headed off to the ruins or coming back from them, stop to fortify yourself with gelato from this bar (Ghiglione Biancamaria). Wonderful flavors made with fresh ingredients as one expects from the best Italian gelato. Amareno and pistachio are particularly good.
The gelato was of the same high order here that one usually finds everywhere in Italy. Service was great, too!
