What Paula K dislikes about Gambrinus:
Rooms are very cozy and tiny. Most the staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were hot, no air conditioning and streets are very noisy when windows are open. They only provide soap. They do have a hairdryer which was nice. The breakfast was very good and breakfast staff was helpful and friendly. The coffee shop a few doors down was awesome. Very friendly. Bus station is right across from the hotel. Free and much... View all feedback.

I was rather satisfied with this hotel. The rooms are rather small, but this is the way it is with every hotel in Rome, except if you are ready to pay at least 300 euros a night for a room. The staff is friendly and did its best to satisfy our requests, and the hotel does offer free wifi and breakfast. Please note that this hotel does not offer any parking and that it will be very difficult to park in the area so you should probably forget about it if you are driving to Rome. The hotel offers a few perks such as free ice tea, coffee, tea which is a nice little addition. The breakfast at the hotel is pretty nice with a lot of hot and cold options. They do serve items such as bacon and eggs which is hard to find in Rome. To conclude, I would say that this hotel is a good quality/price ratio and would recommend it. Feel free to message me for any additional details that you may need!

This place was a little off the beaten path but was well worth the extra ten minutes walk. The service is spot on. They speak fluent English and are very accommodating to your needs. We arrived early and left our luggage with the front desk. Most value hotels in the US would have you pick it up and then take it to your room at a later time. Our luggage was waiting for us in our room when we returned. They have a 24 hour Nescafe machine. Cappuccinos, espressos, hot water (tea), cocoa and American coffee are completely at your disposal. The rooms are spacious. Most rooms in Europe tend to be smaller, but this room have space to move around. Round the clock concierge was just fantastic. The only thing lacking? Breakfast. The set-up was beautiful but nothing peaked my interest. The eggs always tasted disgusting. The rest was just kind of boring. Once again, I loved the cappuccino machine. I would definitely recommend staying here. It is about ten minutes to the Metro Line B. Take that to get to the Colosseum in 8 minutes. Take it one stop to Termini and switch to Line A. That takes about 12 minutes to the Vatican stop. The Wifi is terrible. It only works sporadically in rooms.

Was told at checkin we could have 2 keys. They only give you one. They didn't tell us the central AC doesn't work after Oct 1st. It was warm during the day. Not horrible. Breakfast was included but it wasn't great. Fresh fruit had a swarm of fruit flies They were out of a lot of time he main staples like fritata when we came down at 08:30. Eggs were not great. They were runny and parts were green. When we checked out it was a mess to get through the lobby. People and bags all over the place.

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by this little place. From the minute I walked into the hotel, David, the hotel receptionist was extremely kind and informative on the happenings of Roma. Things like what to do and what not to fall for in Roma. He was kind enough to inform me about Green Line Tours which did a lovely job of showing the city. The room was perfect. Loved the decor. Felt warm and comfortable. The room and bathroom were spotless. The mattress not the best but do-able. Location wise its about a 15 minute walk from Termini Station. A cab robbed us of 25 euro from Termini station to the hotel which was not accurate according to the hotel when we informed them. The breakfast was soooooo yummy! Full of all kinds of things. Eggs, meats, cheeses, cold cuts, a bread station, and different kinds of coffee. The hotel had free wifi which was a great plus! I would not mind staying there again. Just wish it was closer to the center. But the neighborhood is safe.
