Charly's Sauciere - Roma

Must agree with earlier review hard to get good fresh food in Italy, stumbled upon this excellent restaurant on way to coloseum. Fine food n fine wine. Not cheap but attentive friendly host great service will visit again.

It was a few years since I last visit this Frenchish, cozy, little restaurant. Food is good as usual. Particularly the onion soup, the curry and the crepes. But service is too slow: 1 hour and 20 minutes between the main course and the dessert. Spent with the dirty empty dishes in front of us, since nobody came to take them away. When the delicious crepes arrive, you only long for your bed. Will not come back very soon...

The positive reviews lured us to this restaurant. Boy: what a deception. Expensive meals that have nothing to do with French cuisine, which I know farely good. Dry paté, onion soup with more cheese than flavour, dry chicken, ... . When we complained to the owner they answered: but we cook like this for over 40 years.... They were friendly and the wine was good but that is it. Very sad....

The right place to get the traditional French cuisine. small and very cozy place. impeccable service and exquisite courtesy. prices corresponding to the treatment.

Lucky to have found this French restaurant in the heart of roma. great welcome, delicious food and romantic atmosphere!
