Casal Lombardo - Roma

It was the first time we have been to this restaurant. The restaurant is really very nice, very well decorated, very welcoming and very large. It is a rustic and refined environment at the same time, with copper objects on the walls and highly polished wooden display cases. The environment is very neat and clean. There is also plenty of parking both inside and outside the restaurant. As soon as we arrived, the waiter came to meet us and was immediately kind and helpful. The waiting times for dishes to arrive on the table are absolutely reasonable. We ordered a focaccia, which was not counted, a grilled meat and artichokes alla giudia. Unfortunately on the food I have to point out that our expectations were not met. The focaccia is really delicious and cooked to perfection. The grilled meat although cooked and seasoned to perfection, I found it a little too tough, especially what I believe was the beef. The artichokes alla giudia were too ripe, so the outer leaves (but also the inner ones) were too hard and in the center there was the typical beard of the artichoke when it is about to blossom. We tried four and all four were like this. I repeat we have only been once and this has been our experience; maybe who knows, coming back it will be different.

We were very well attended, the food was excellent, “sea salad” and second, salmon and fish fillet with orange sauce. Everything is delicious. The bread could have been fresher but it was a Sunday night so that was fine. We ordered a wine, which they didn't have, but we were recommended another one and it was excellent! I recommend!

AMAZING service and food! I’m studying abroad this month and have been to eat here every meal I possibly can, the food is so fresh and affordable. The staff speaks little English but makes a huge effort to make everyone feel welcome and are patient as well. There is live music every night and the pizza is made outside where you can watch as well!
