Carter Oblio has a beautiful, well covered atmosphere, with thoughtful bookshelves, UK old skirt in the background, and a friendly staff. I had the seven-course tasting menu that combined excellent and creative many regional Italian traditions with international elements. The crowd is younger than in handful of others, similar to Kaliber restaurants I tried in Rome, and a little more diverse. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Carter Oblio:
The best thing about this restaurant was music and wine. There were some good dishes, but above all the food missed terrible. The pizzeria ravioli, egg and candied pasta all fell well short of expectations leading to a very disappointing meal. They could do much better in Rome with little effort. View all feedback.
“Cárter Oblio” is a restaurant just opened in the centre of roma, a stone's throw from the square. the style of the restaurant is very essential, but good goto, with the exposed kitchen that for me is an added value. we tasted different meat dishes, of which two distinguished for a long time on others: ducks and candies. not less sweet, than I personally found delicious and not at all discounted, especially craquelins made with all seasonal products, synonymous with attention to the choice of raw material. to review, however, the service: no spoons were brought for appetizers and we were removed the dishes for the degotation of bread without asking if we had finished eating. definitely is a restaurant with a large kitchen that, with some small adaptation, can bet high.
I had a wonderful lunch at Carter Oblio. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. To start I ordered the Hot Dog and it had a good flavour and was presented well on the plate. For my main I ordered the Paella al Salto and it was delicious. The rice had a crisp on the outside and was flavourful. There were many kinds of fish and they were all good, I just wish there had been more. To finish, the best dish of the entire lunch was dessert. I ordered the chocolate eggplant for dessert and it was the star! There was so much flavour and the texture was perfect. The chocolate eggplant itself was soft and delicious with cream piped in between. To add to the flavour there were also bits of orange and hard chocolate crumbs sprinkled on top. If you go to Carter Oblio no matter what else you order, you need to get the chocolate eggplant!
The food was average at best. Had to ask three times for another cocktail. Not at all what I expected from a Michelin restaurant.
Absolutely phenomenal dinner! We had the seven course tasting meal with wine pairings (total bill ~200E for two) and every dish was spectacular. The only thing i didn’t like was the butter with anchovies, but I don’t like anchovies in anything. Large portions so bring your appetite. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and spoke English well. Would definitely go back!
This is a modern Italian Michelin recommended restaurant in the Travestere section of Rome a short walk from the Piazza de Popolo. The food is very good. The setting is beautiful and the service is good. The three of us had the ravoli, buffalo, bufala, Insalata, cappellacci, among other dishes. It was all tasty and well prepared and a perfect setting for lunch. Drinks and wines were interesting and fairly extensive. Our meals and drinks came to around 160 euros.
