If you are one of those travellers who are sick of eating pasta, pizzas and other western food like myself, this place wont disappoint you. Dont expect too much from it. If this was at a country where asian food is common, it would be an average korean restaurant. But since it's hard to find one in Italy, you cant just help but enjoy their food. After only eating Italian food for a week, my spicy pork stir fry tasted... View all feedback.
What FoodyReviewer doesn't like about Arirang:
Shame the owners here haven’t made much effort in creating a nice atmosphere to dine in -1* Very tired and just looks unloved/neglected -1*. Needed to not focus on it and just enjoy the company and the Food …which was actually quite good 5*! Perhaps if you’re local, opt for a takeaway. Of the 2 local basement Korean restaurants we visited in Rome… I recommend to: choose the other one if eating in. View all feedback.
I traveled through Milan, Venice, Florence and then Rome with my husband for our honeymoon and by the time I’m in Rome I was desperate for a familiar taste of Korean food. I know, I know, when in Rome… but we’ve been traveling and eating local dishes for so long I just have to switch my palate for a change. This place offers a cozy and homey atmosphere, the owner is an older gentleman who is very nice and gave us some suggestions on where to visit in Rome and some inside tips on the parking situation around the attractions. The dishes is very good, no frill, straight to the point home cook style. We ordered the kimchi stew and fried rice and cleaned our plates lol. The kimchi is definitely the best in Italy so far for me and I know kimchi, we make them ourselves at home. I know they used fresh ingredients and the good kind of imported pepper powder. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars! I will definitely come back again and again. This place is highly recommended, especially for traveling Koreans looking for a taste of home.
After dining on Italian dishes for four weeks in Rome and Florence, we decided to try Korean foods. Based on Google review, we went to Arirang Restaurant not far from Roma Termini. It was not easy to find the restaurant based on the Google map. The restaurant 's entrance was at the basement level walking down the staircase from the street. The restaurant 's atmosphere and facilities were not inviting. Waiter was courteous, but the dish we ordered, Soon Dubu Chigae was extremely hot (spicy hot) and tasteless. Price was quite high for the quality of the food and the ambiance. It is not recommendable restaurant.
We ordered beef korean hot pot and korean rice mixed with meat and vegetable. When the plats are served, we could not find the meat at all. We wondered if the cook forgot it in the plats. Then, the server came and showed us some tiny almost not visible shreds of meat. It is a joke !! Too expensive for what it is. In addition, the boss is not friendly, not smiling.
