What Samira Martini dislikes about Alla Lanterna:
honest neighborhood tavern. has no peaks of excellence or demerit. only one note: nowadays it is not possible to have in menu only meat and fish dishes. not an alternative, I don't say vegan (for charity, it would ask too much), but at least vegetarian! the only possible alternative was between a cacio and pepper and mushroom cutters. That's not right. View all feedback.

A small and very nice typical roman trattoria with a familiar environment. If you like to discover the places where Romans eat and get value for money.

The food here is affordable and excellent. The pizza's are very good; too bad they serve them only for dinner here. The service was very good and quick. By the way, we ate here 3 times during a 5-day stay at Rome.

I went there for a quick drink, while wife was on dinner. Good choice of food, good desserts and people working there very professional and family feeling .

Having just flown in for a short holiday we were tired and hungry and decided to „do as the Romans do“ and eat at this trattoria near our hotel, TripAdvisor label at the door. We should have checked though... We went in and were placed at a small table near the toilets in Germany called „der Katzentisch“, ordered Pizza Capricciosa and Pizza Tonno and saw a door virtually close on us when we declined alcoholic beverages. We know genuine Pizza to be thin and crispy, but these had left the crispy state far behind, separating into a thin layer with the toppings on and a hard lower one we just could not cut. The waitress passed by several times, watching our silent struggle remember: just arrived, tired, hungry with the unwielding pizza things with a look of disdain like „not even able to order a decent meal or eat a pizza properly“ while dry fragments of Matzen bread littered plates and table cloth. The place filled up nicely and became quite noisy; at one point hubby leaned forward and whispered about a „Pizza Vesuvio“ (i.e. after the outbreak) just being delivered to some guests at the rear. By the way, you probably get a decent meal there if you are regulars and choose other dishes, especially three courses and much wine. We at last threw in the towel on our modest dinner, decided skip the dolces, call it a day and went to bed with somewhat mixed feelings about „La Cucina Italiana“.
