It was so cold in there we were all miserable. We kept asking them to turn down the AC but they never did enough that the cold air stopped blasting on us. My husband was even wearing a sweater in June in Miami and was miserable. None of us could really enjoy our meal because we were all so cold, and these are from people who are always hot and love Ac. What Mangiabene doesn't like about Pawn Broker - Langford Hotel:
Not as good as it was in the beginning. Has lost it's initial luster. It's still somewhat good, but should be better. Was a bit empty and felt like they are not paying as much attention as initially to the food. Mac Cheese was ridiculously over rich. Unfortunately I went to a day when the menu was limited. a kind of wish, opentable would alert them if that happened. it's crazy.
It must be nice to have the luxury of leaving customer service out of your business model. In the restaurant world, I think it 's normally frowned upon to spill part of an order as you 're delivering it to the table and simply say, my bad! without making any effort to replace the lost food. It 's too bad this establishment aspires to being nothing more than a chic hotspot, because the food is actually very good.
Food was great service was great. Appetizers were top notch and were large enough to share: the braised short rib ragu with sea shell pasta was incredible and the grilled octopus was great. Main course was the dry aged pork chop which had a crust of gruyere and mustard sauce very good bacon tater tots missed the mark a bit and the pubb belly burger was good but at $19 for a burger you really have to hit it out of the park.
It was advertised as open on open table and thier restaurant website when we arrived it was closed. Terrible marketing I could only imagine the service
Great food !!! The roof is a must see, very lovely.
