Honestly one of the best places to eat at on campus! The food is always fresh and I like seeing everyone I know! Inexpensive but with even better quality. I hope they open up in the Fall of '21 because I can 't wait to go back! View all feedback.
What Nicholas C doesn't like about Lobos Cafe:
I've gone to Lobos 4 times so far and I've got pretty mixed feelings. The food is ok depending on what you order, and service depends on when you eat there. I've had some pretty bad experiences with this place though. On my 2nd visit here, I ordered pizza by the slice. The bottom of the pizza was burnt and it felt rubbery, I suspected it was microwaved and had it returned. On my 4th visit here I got a BBQ chicken san... View all feedback.
My absolute favorite place to come hangout on campus! This week has been incredibly warm so a friend and I decided to grab a beer and some food in between classes. Sat on the outside patio to enjoy the beautiful weather and had a blast. Great place to work on some homework as well depending on your mood! This time, my friend and I both got Ace Guava Ciders which of course were great and super refreshing. Can't go wrong with an Ace Cider! We both also got the totchos (tater tot nachos?!? these actually blew our minds. SO yummy and decently priced. We both were not expecting the portion size to be that much due to how cheap it was. It was a pleasant surprise. Some food items on the menu are definitely better/more high quality than others.. these totchos were absolutely a 10/10. Can't wait to continue to hangout here and enjoy the nice weather we're having for the last couple weeks of the semester!
So many issues. First, no one knows how anything works. A manager will tell you to do something, and another person will contradict that. Then you confirm with another manager, who will say the first manager was correct, so keep doing it, and then a fourth person will come along and say they're all wrong. When you explain that you're doing exactly what two other managers told you to do, you're told that you're entitled. What? No. It's like this place is run by kindergarteners playing a grown-up restaurant game. Second, the food. The chicken nuggets are fowl (lol). You get like four little dried out nuggets that are fried to the texture of a pencil eraser. They usually smell and taste like old fryer oil. The tatchos (tater tot nachos) were super greasy and left me and my friend feeling sick after taking a few bites. Don't even get me started on the pizzas, which taste like they've been buried in the Narnia-level depth of their freezers for the past decade. The mozzarella sticks are ok, but sometimes weirdly tasted like pancake batter. The burger was alright... it's the only thing I'd say is consistently edible. This place is two steps lower than Taco Bell, which is not only cheaper, but right across the street. Do yourself a favor and go there instead.

I ordered mozzarella sticks and got sticks with no mozzarella
I was excited about the re-opening of Lobos, until I ate the food. Quality was terrible, I had the buffalo chicken sandwich and everyone compared it to tasting like like throw up. The food a couple years ago was far better; they clearly lowered the standards while increasing the price. I ordered the $9 mozzarella sticks and the majority of them didn't even have mozzarella in them, making them just sticks. Jokes aside, what a horrible experience of spending $25 on food that resembles gas station food standards. Don't worry, I have some suggestions on how to improve because this was such a disappointment. Suggestions: -Improve meat, cheese and sauce standards -Increase variety and quality of beers/seltzers -Stop using cheap frozen ingredients -Have a little bit of passion in the dishes -Match the price for the quality of the food -7 cheap frozen mozzarella sticks should not cost 1.28 each, especially if they didn't have mozzarella in some of them -Have a little bit of respect for the students who spend their hard earned money on food!
