Didn't expect such good food or service. Waitress very friendly and efficient. The sweet potato fries were the best ever. Got a steak and cheese sandwich, was very good. Definitely want to stay at the Lodge, knowing the restaurant is so good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 View all feedback.
What Sheila Colston doesn't like about Daniella's In The Park:
We took 4 people to have the Saturday seafood buffet, only to see the buffet had chicken, Mac n cheese, baked potatoes and something resembling bbq pork. We asked about the seafood but got no real answer. Very disappointed. View all feedback.
We always eat here when staying at the Lodge at Joe Wheeler. The food is tasteful, a good selection, great servers and nice atmosphere looking over the lake.
I try to eat here often to support local restaurants and our state parks. It could be so much better if they kept longer, more consistent hours. They are only open Thursday-Saturday 11-8 and Sunday 7-3. They also close for an hour from 4-5 to get ready for dinner. On Sundays, and Friday and Saturday nights you can only eat the buffet with no option to order off the menu. I went for lunch at 1130 on a Friday and sat at a table when a server came out and said they were closed with no explanation why. Although 3 tables had people actively eating lunch (they were park employees). This is just another example of the inconsistency.Food- the Reuben and onion rings are recommended. The buffets are hit or miss.Service- very inconsistent ranging from great to really bad. I've been in and out for lunch in 35 minutes and stuck there over an hour with hardly any other customers to cause a delay. This restaurant could be very good with more consistency both in service and hours of operation. In the summer season a state park restaurant should not close before it gets dark outside.
