So I planned an ice-fishing trip to NE Michigan, but I thought I could only fish in the afternoon while I have to leave the morning open.... how I build my vacation at Tradewinds Bakery and make a visit at 7:00 for a few turtles every morning... the turtle stick is as good as it gets. Everything is done in the morning/night like a bakery! North of Bay City, East of I-75 all the way to Mackinaw, this is the best bakery there is. One of the best in Lower Michigan actually.

The prices are as high as everything else the donuts taste good, but I noticed that they are always smaller and smaller

This little bakery is great. 1. It opens very early as a bakery should and 2. the donuts and pastries are so good and 3. the customer service is friendly.

What a hidden gem for real hand made doughnuts, made each day starting before midnight and done before they open. Even after moving from Roger's city to Cheboygan, a 70mile round trip, I still travel that distance for absolutely fantastic doughnuts. A must visit for anyone in the area, but get up early, because when they are sold, they don't make more, they sellout daily between 8am and noon depending on the time of year. Get there early!
