What Henny Rijskamp doesn't like about Het Wapen Van Drenthe' Roden:
I dined there alone.. Too young waitresses. Didn't go so well.. And a pan that was way too big for the mussels. Hard to eat. No damp cloth. Too bad there wasn't an older one to see. Very little fries with the mussels. Salad was nice. And the wine glasses are half full but that is the case everywhere these days and it costs more of course. Sorry but I won't be back. Maybe for lunch because it seems to be very good I h... View all feedback.
Roden looks a bit like a health resort on the Baltic Sea, very cozy, everything you need is on site. The first impression from the outside takes some getting used to, lots of wood inside, very nice atmosphere. With a steep staircase, not unusual for the Netherlands, we went to the room. Very nice room layout, great modern bathroom with gray tiles. The facilities are very tasteful, super decoration. We had the junior suite, enough space for everything. Nice big balcony. Dark wood, very cozy. Breakfast was plentiful, everything you need, very tasty. Very informal, not many rooms, great decoration in the lounge. There are shops, bakeries, restaurants and small shops for everyday needs within walking distance. In 12 minutes by bus to Groningen eg. Leeuwarden can be reached by car in 45 minutes. Free parking right in front of the door. All in all we were very satisfied. Rooms: Cozy, spacious from the place, very clean, super furnished. Lamps and sockets everywhere. Great bathroom, very spacious

Maybe for lunch because it seems to be very good I heard from third parties. We also had a nice place on a round bench. A really cozy corner by the windows.
