Hidden gem!! Inside of Lotte International Market is this high quality sushi takeout. Delicious dragon crunch roll and amazing deals on all the chef special nigiri and roll combos. The fish is so fresh and tuna is a beautiful dark red. Cannot wait to go back! View all feedback.
What Daniel Whodat doesn't like about Neko Sushi:
Pretty decent, it’s not bad at all but it’s also not great. Obviously since it’s sitting in a grocery store it’s cold sushi. The pricing is also moderate-ish. It’s kinda mediocre all the way around. I wouldn’t repeatedly go there with all the other sushi options around. View all feedback.
My best friend told me if I want quick sushi to go to Lotte. If you go into Lotte and head to the left side of the store, you discover, Neko sushi! They usually have boxes of sushi out in the front and everything looks SO FRESH! The first time I went, I got a box of three rolls. This box cost about $13. Which was not bad at all! There was a simple yellowtail roll, salmon roll, and a tuna roll. Everything tastes as fresh as it looked! Everything was simple, but so good. Cannot complain! If you want quick, fast, and easy sushi, this is the spot!!! Worth the try. 10/10.
Neko Sushi has some great prices on what would cost far more at most other locations around the DMV, but it does become a bit of a six of one, half-dozen of another situation. I ordered two sashimi platters and I will say that two cuts of their fish is about equal to one cut you would find elsewhere. If you know what you 're getting into, it 's a superior experience to all grocery sushi I 've ever had, but that is where you need to set your expectations.I imagine this is because they have limited space due to the fact they pre-stage platters, or it could just be the preference of the business or chef. Either way, I won 't dock a star for that, but I am tempted to. I can 't speak to how the sushi was crafted since I only bough sashimi, but I did enjoy the assortment that they had. I will deduct a point because the ginger and wasabi (had a 'squirted from a tube ' consistency you get with grocery store sushi were of very low quality, and I think they could stand to use better alternativesNeko is located in an international store, which was a big part of the draw for me. I got to explore some really uncommon products (live fish in tanks, cow hearts, kidneys, and livers, various foreign snack food, etc. that certainly had me wanting to come back. Overall, I 'd say Neko is far better than grocery stores where you can get sushi since they actually sell sashimi and large platters, but if you have decades of experience eating sushi, you may not mind paying more at a different location.
Located in Lotte, Neko Sushi was such a surprise! Expect better than your average supermarket sushi at a low cost, with quick ordering. We've gotten sushi here a few times, either just grabbing it from the pre-made area or ordering their platters. Their platters are really affordable, and come with a mix of nigiri and rolls. Everything tastes fresh and tasty. The rolls typically come with spicy mayo type sauce, and usually revolve around tempura and california roll type components. Overall they're a great place for a quick bite and their platters are a must-have!
Very nice sushi with great price, friendly staff and skilled chef! Nice variety and ample amount of sushi for a party platter we ordered! Will come back!
