I want to start off with the positive. The atmosphere and waiter were great. The food was good but nothing above ordinary. I had asked to add chicken to a meal because there was no protein in it. The waiter was nice enough to speak with the chef but the chef refused to add chicken to the dish. I was willing to pay for the chicken no problem. I had never experienced something like this. I guess the kitchen was busy so they could not add the chicken to it. Needless to say it was pretty disappointing. I ordered a dish I was not too happy with but didn't have the heart to return it. I ate about half and left the rest. I'm sorry to say I don't think I will be returning to Lucca after this experience. Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful time here, not only was the service wonderful, but the food was top notch, even my girlfriend said it was wonderful, and she doesn't even like Italian food. This place makes it like a real European restaurant type of quality, and the bread it to die for. The portion sizes you get for the price you pay are great, not like the kind of places that are having you paying 25$ for tuna tartar and you get one little piece, you get the full thing. Absolutely wonderful meal and the service could not have been better. I was catching up with a friend, and we sat for 3 hours but never felt pressured to move along. Loved everything about our visit!
