Great place to stop when you? Visit the Oregon coast! We thought here was 3 kidnappers on the way from Tillamook to Cannon Beach to say we had corn dogs from which they were invented. We usually go with ketchup and mustard, but the dipping of the corndog in her fry sauce was also excellent. Very cool place! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Original Pronto Pup:
The corndogs aren't all that great. The type of hot dogs they use are really salty and greasy. The batter they use is more salty than sweet. Hot dog on a stick is better. Didn't even finish my second one. View all feedback.

Totally worth doing if you come to Rockaway Beach, even if you don't love corndogs because they have pickle and cheese options. We had a blast and enjoyed the delicious food. The mechanical corndog still worked and only cost 25 cents.
Love to go back to my childhood occasionally and The Original Pronto Pup does just that. We travel to Rockaway a few times a year and have to say that they are by far the best corndogs on the planet. There is some history here, claiming that the first corndog was invented in Rockaway. I can believe that as they seemed to have perfected the corndog like no other. The breading is perfect, giving you that slight outer crunch with a softer corn meal inner texture. The cheese pup and pickle pup are great, but it's the original thar really stands out. Staff is kind and helpful and facility is cheery and clean. You must stop in when in Rockaway.
While on vacation earlier this month, my son and I walked across the street to get some lunch. The corn dogs were amazing. The batter was nice and crispy without that sweetness that the store bought corn dogs have. My son got the spicy sausage corn dog. He really enjoyed it. It was not enjoyable to me as it was just heat, I think it was cayenne, and masked the flavor of the sausage. The fries were hot and perfectly cooked.
