The food at Cook Out is really good, even the stuff I dislike is good! Whether you're in the mood for burgers, chicken or BBQ, they have something that will fit the bill. And milkshakes? Oh man these are the best! I don't know why they give you a straw for these extra thick shakes! It's more like enjoying soft serve ice cream with a wide variety of toppings to choose from. What Retta Timmons doesn't like about Cook Out:
My friend and I recently visited Cook Out in Rock Hill for a quick meal. The employee at the drive-thru seemed unhappy and complained about the long lines openly. She seemed uninterested in providing good customer service and even dropped some condiments on the ground while handing them to us. The service was disappointing. We ordered two shakes, a BLT, and a corndog. The BLT was lacking in bacon, it was mostly bread... View all feedback.
My wife and I went to Cook Out. Service was slow, but we finally ordered and it took a while to get to the window to pay and receive our food. Once we finally got to the window we were then told the card machine was broken and they were only taking cash at that register. I only had my card with me and apologized that I didn’t have cash with me. The young girl at the window, slammed the window shut and started running her mouth! Very surprised. We regularly visit this Cook Out and haven’t had this experience before where a worker was incredibly rude to us, but we won’t be back if this treatment is allowed.
My card was charged way too much. I order the same two trays everyday and it’s normally like $13. Today a new cashier said my total was $22.37. Yesterday it was $13. It didn’t make any sense. I said to reread my order back to me at the window, he said exactly what I ordered and then handed me a bag where he charged me double for everything!! Absolutely ridiculous!
I would advise staying away from this restaurant unless you want to be overcharged and disappointed every time. The prices are inconsistent, often being up to $5 more than they should be. Some of the portions are so small that they are counted as two. Additionally, the staff never provide a detailed receipt, only the total amount. It seems like they are not being honest with their customers.
I had a negative experience at this restaurant with an African American woman who had braided hair. She was very rude and did not greet me when I approached the window. She held out my drink in a way that I couldn't reach it, and I had to verbally tell her I couldn't reach it. She then held out her hand for payment without acknowledging me. She handled my bag as if I were a child, keeping her finger on it until my payment went through. Her behavior was unacceptable and she should be fired. If this is how they treat customers, I am surprised this place is still in business. I will not be returning, as it is a prime example of terrible and unprofessional service. If I were the manager, I would fire this employee for their poor customer service.
My partner and I enjoy coming to this restaurant. The food and service are usually good, but tonight was different. We waited at the speaker for 3 minutes before someone took our order. When we received our food, the cashier, wearing a high school jacket, was not very friendly. The food was just okay, not great. The portions were small for the price we paid. I was disappointed, especially since I usually love this place. I decided to give it another chance and returned tonight. Unfortunately, they forgot to include the hay in my quesadilla and left out a whole ingredient. I only received one napkin and didn't even get a bun with my order. I am not satisfied with the experience and feel like I wasted $17. I will not be returning to this restaurant for the night shift.
