Scratch Bake Shop - Rochester

I really want to have a go-to bakery that offers a variety that I can count on . My experience with Scratch is that it is consistently inconsistent. A pic of the recent fudge brownie purchase shows it all. Imagine...someone cut these brownies, wrapped labeled them and put them in the same case to sell at the same price. The person putting them in my bag didn't even take the time to notice. I paid same price for both. The vegan/gluten-free cookies were so underbaked that I put them in the oven when I got home at 350 for nearly 8 minutes!!! Soft cookies are good, but it doesn't require under-baking it calls for a recipe with the right ingredients. Eating raw or undercooked flour can be unhealthy. Agree with the other posters, the owner has never been welcoming to me or others nor does she thank customers when leaving. Hard to support this all.

Scratch is always hit or miss for me. I have had in a variety of places a number of times and sometimes I enjoy it and sometimes I think it's okay. At this point I've tried many of the things on their menu but mostly there macarons. Sometimes there nice and soft and sometimes they fall apart. Either way this is a women owned business they make absolutely beautiful cakes and they cater to people with different allergies. I will continue to support them wherever possible.

Staff is so nice and helpful! everything looks and tastes delicious. always gluten free an vegan options available in the case so you don't have to only order ahead.

My family loves scratch! always a high quality product, creative, and beautiful! if you haven't tried the scratch plates those are a must!

I love to bake at home so I usually don't venture out to get baked goods from places but this place is always worth the trip. And I even really enjoy the gluten free and vegan chocolate chip cookies from here. But that is not all they make but that is what I gravitate to. Really good selection of baked goods here and the customer service is always on point check them out.
