The restaurant features a wide selection of locally sourced products, and their empanadas are outstanding. There's an artistic house at one corner and a lovely garden filled with pears, lettuce, flowers, and herbs at another. This is truly one of my favorite aspects of living in Rochester. What Elizabeth Schmidt doesn't like about City Of Rochester Public Market:
I've recently been disappointed with the quality and pricing at this market. In the past, I could find produce here for much cheaper than at Wegmans, but over the last few months, many vendors have started selling items at prices higher than those at local grocery stores (for example, watermelon at Wegmans was $6, while at the market it was $8). Additionally, some of the vendors can be quite pushy and rude. If you're... View all feedback.

I really enjoyed the Food Truck Rodeos with live music that take place on the last Wednesday of every month! They also offer excellent fruits and vegetables!
Where have all the true farmers gone? Definitely not to this place. It’s been a year since I last visited the Rochester Public Market, and I can honestly say it was a letdown. The experience just wasn’t worth it! I’d prefer to go elsewhere and pay a premium for my produce.

Additionally, some of the vendors can be quite pushy and rude. If you're very careful and plan ahead, you might still come across some decent deals. However, as another reviewer pointed out, don’t deceive yourself into thinking this is a sustainable, small-farmer-friendly or environmentally-friendly market. It's mostly just vendors reselling wholesale goods at significant markups.
This is a spacious market offering a wide selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers. You'll find numerous food vendors providing everything from Mexican cuisine to bagels and Asian dishes. Additionally, there are various other vendors selling items like clothing, flea market goods, honey, and liquor. On Saturdays with pleasant weather, the indoor area tends to get quite crowded, but there's plenty of parking available if you're willing to walk a couple of blocks.
