What Heather Dunmoyer dislikes about The Blufftop At Rocheport:
I went there last Saturday with 2 friends, hoping to enjoy a relaxing time. It was immediately jarring. As we pulled in to park there was a school bus loading up a bunch of drunk sorority/fraternity kids. I could see them swaying, one fell over, I could see that their eyes were barely steady. Once we got towards the bar/ordering area there was a girl off to the side that had injured herself and she had been refused m... View all feedback.

Disappointed, overpriced, miss managed. Shame that a spectacular view and venue falls short on the basics from service to food preparation. Lackluster experience in a dirty wine glass. Now I bet the bot sends the canned response. But that in no way will make up for the three lamb chops that were presented resembling a Kingsford charcoal briquet served with charred carrots and potato that were actually undercooked. Star of the evening the lemon desert. The view is great. But it’s not clean nor comfortable. Well advised to seek alternatives. A long time ago, this place was nice: the food, view and quality. Right now, it is absolutely overrated, overpriced and disappointing place. What happened to the menu? There is absolutely nothing to choose from. There are only 7 entries!!! Only 7 and 3 of them are vegetarian. Portions are extremely tiny. It is the first time in the history when I left the restaurant hungry while ordering $40 salmon and the dessert. Everything was nothing. The dessert was a joke. Leftover cookies smashed on the plate and sprinkled with whipped cream. What a disaster. The waiter brought my husband’s food first, and I was waiting for my food for another 15 minutes, staring at his extremely small soup and salad. This place is trying to be upscale while the staff does not know what they are doing. We didn’t have a pleasant experience, it was a ruined evening. Never again. If something is not changed, this place will loose the customers.

Absolutely wonderful birthday celebration! Started with the desert martini, a combination of house gin, red chili vodka, aloe liqueur, jalapeño and lime juice..the taste of the desert with a refreshing twist. Then a delicious take on a potato salad of potatoes, green beans, tomatoes and black olives with a Champaign dressing. Topped off with entrees of beef filet, expertly prepared and lamb shank also cooked to perfection with roasted carrots. Wines were pared perfectly with the meats. Desserts looked wonderful but to full to enjoy. Beautiful setting on the bluff of the Missouri River and picturesque views while enjoying the delicious dinner. Will definitely go back. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+

Historically, I have always had positive experiences at the A-Frame. The views, wine and food are all excellent.I recently visited the A-Frame on the afternoon of 9/16/23. I wanted to buy a bottle of wine and I inquired about the Chambourcin Saignée. I mispronounced the name of this wine and the gentleman working the counter was obviously irritated by this but went to look for the wine. When the wine was presented, it was a dark color, and I was looking for more of a lighter color Rose. The male employee then seemed irritated that it wasn 't what I wanted. At this point I felt very unwelcome. I told my friend I don 't think he understood what I was asking . I wanted to know a little bit about the wine so I could make a decision, maybe I should have just bought a glass and tried it with no explanation? It 's apparent I 'm no sommelier. At this point the male employee says, I can 't do this and walked out leaving the other employee by herself with a long line waiting. This female employee was very kind and explained to me that she didn 't know too much about it since it 's not ordered frequently, but she did let me know it was part of their collector 's series.Really disappointing customer service, especially considering this person is at the main counter in the A-Frame. Not a great first impression or first encounter with staff at a business. I had bought a sticker for advertisement in my own local business, but I don’t think I will give the recommendation to go to this establishment if this guy oversees your customer service experience. Still giving 5 stars because I know how important that is as a business owner and this place is great with the exception of this bad seed.

This place is awesome. Great views, good wine, light fare and beer! Pro tip: If you are on bikes take the roads from Rocheport, not the suggested Google route along the Katie.
