Subway - Rochelle

As soon as I left at 10:15 PM, 45 minutes before closing, I was told, "I can't toast," to which I replied, "That's fine." She seemed taken aback and remarked, “Usually, people just leave when I say that.” It seemed like she was caught off guard by the expectation of making a sandwich while also being held up by... subway orders. At the end of the counter, there was a handwritten sign apologizing for the nightly cleaning of the toaster, which clearly served as a way to discourage customers. The owner could easily increase revenue by “cleaning” the toaster after hours. Seriously, what germs could possibly make the toaster unclean? I gave it four stars because the staff member was very friendly, and the restaurant was exceptionally clean, which is impressive for a roadside establishment.

Overall, the service at the Roadranger metro is usually quite good. The staff is friendly, the sandwiches are excellent, and they work quickly. However, during my last visit, there was a bit of concern when a woman questioned whether they had washed their hands or changed their gloves between preparing sandwiches and handling payments. Additionally, she seemed unsure about how to properly take my order or process my payment.

A lovely lady prepared our sandwiches, and they were fantastic! The drink selection was impressive—the strawberry lemonade was especially delicious! The bread was fresh, and the cookies looked amazing! It felt just like my mother had made my lunch!
