The food here is amazingly good, considering the location and the small size of the kitchen. I recommend to try the polenta with wild boar (cinghiale), but everything else is equally good. However if you do not book expect to wait a long time to be seated. Very good house wines. View all feedback.
What BZabcthd doesn't like about Il Rifugio Del Lupo:
We have been here twice after hiking. The lady who works at the bar was quite court and made us feel like she was doing us a favour by eating there. This restaurant is well out of the beaten track. Ran by Carlotta from family of distinguished musicians and her team of ladies, you are made feel at home, in the rough but kind and warm way you would expect from a rifugio up in the mountains. Soups and especially meal dishes are very tasty. the wine is sincere and will go well with the meat. Cakes are home made and make you think of the ones your grandmother may have cooked (a big plus for me). The views are most relaxing and the terrace very well positioned as it benefits of a generous exposure to the sun. A great place both during the summer and the winter (from what i get told). Full marks for price to quality ratio, the team that runs the restaurant and the position overlooking the valley (which leads to rifugio sebastiani by the way; a famous mountain hike in the area)
