Big Chic - Feedback

Was Elbert Stamm at Big Chic a mag?
My granddaddy took my grandmother here years ago. She talked about how good it was. Grandaddy passed. Been years since she has been here. We drove her an hour and a half to eat here again. Well worth the drive. The staff was phenomenal. 100 health inspection and definitely best fried chicken in the southeast. Highly recommend. View all feedback.
What Doyle Torp dislikes about Big Chic:
The restaurant's hue is a light golden brown, which stays fresh even near closing time thanks to regularly changed cooking oil, setting it apart from the competition. View all feedback.

Exceptional customer service! delicious eating of good Christian southern people! the restaurant is clean, table tops are clean and the staff is well dressed.
The food was good, but the service was lacking. I had to give it a lower rating because of the service. According to their online hours, they open at 10:30, so we arrived at 10:35. However, when we entered, the restaurant appeared closed as the tables and chairs had not been set up yet. I commented that they were not open yet, and a worker confirmed that they were and asked for a minute. After setting up the tables and chairs, we placed our order and found the cashier to be unfriendly throughout the process. It seemed like she was bothered by our early arrival. We ordered Blazin Buffalo fries with ranch on the side, as well as regular Blazin Buffalo fries. My wife prefers her ranch on the side, so she asked for it that way. Despite there being more ranch on my plate, we were charged extra for requesting it on the side. We waited for our order, and when I heard my name called, I turned around to respond. To my surprise, the cashier had already placed our order on the counter without informing us. The restaurant was small, with at least four visible employees, so I expected better service. Overall, this restaurant seems more like a fast-food joint than a cozy city eatery.

I tried to place an order over the phone today, but every time I called, the line was busy. This has happened before. At one point, someone answered but then put me on hold for a long time and forgot about me. It's frustrating to try to order when no one is available to help, especially when the only option is the drive-through.
Nestled in a cozy corner, a restaurant known for its light golden-brown ambiance impresses with its consistently fresh food, aided by regularly changed cooking oil. While the flavors resonate with patrons, the service leaves much to be desired. Customers face frustrations with delayed responses, unfriendly cashiers, and overlooked orders. Yet, the fried chicken remains a standout favorite, with some patrons recalling nostalgic visits. With a health inspection score of 100 and praise for its delectable offerings, this restaurant shines as a culinary gem, albeit in need of a service overhaul to match its culinary excellence.
